As an IT Officer, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the organization's information technology systems and infrastructure. You will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our technology resources, supporting end-users, and implementing IT strategies to meet the organization's objectives.
Responsibilities
IT System Administration: Administer and maintain the organization's computer systems, including servers, networks, databases, and software applications. Ensure system availability, reliability, and security through regular monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
User Support and Training: Provide technical support to end-users, addressing hardware and software issues, network connectivity, and system access. Assist in user onboarding and conduct training sessions to enhance their IT skills and promote efficient technology usage.
IT Infrastructure Management: Plan, implement, and manage the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage systems, and cloud services. Evaluate and recommend new technologies, hardware, and software solutions to improve efficiency and meet business requirements.
Information Security: Implement security measures to protect the organization's data, systems, and networks from unauthorized access, malware, and other threats. Develop and enforce IT security policies and procedures in line with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Data Backup and Recovery: Establish and maintain a robust data backup and recovery system to ensure the integrity and availability of critical information. Regularly test and update backup procedures to minimize data loss in case of system failures or disasters.
IT Project Management: Plan, coordinate, and execute IT projects, such as system upgrades, network expansions, and software implementations. Define project scope, develop timelines, allocate resources, and manage project risks and dependencies.
Vendor Management: Engage with IT vendors and service providers to procure hardware, software licenses, and IT services. Evaluate vendor performance, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely resolution of issues or escalations.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
Proven experience in IT support and administration, preferably in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of computer systems, networks, hardware, and software applications.
Familiarity with IT security principles, data backup, and disaster recovery practices.
Proficiency in troubleshooting technical issues and providing end-user support.
Project management skills to plan, execute, and monitor IT projects effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with users and stakeholders.
Ability to adapt to new technologies and stay updated with industry trends.
Analytical mindset and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve IT-related issues.
