Allocate and control funds allotted under the approved annual budget Provide necessary approvals and authorizations Delegate work as necessary Watch the compilation, sorting and filing of accounting documents Train and assist the accounting personnel in all matters relating to the accounting activities Report any issues and discrepancies to Finance and Group Director – QAC (Operations) Direct the deployment accounting policies and administer approved financial and cost accounting procedures Oversee and direct financing, audit, and accounting activities Issue reports which summarize and forecast business activities and financial position in the areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations Supervise the maintenance accounts and prepare financial statements Prescribe adequate systems of internal control to ensure proper stewardship of assets and to ensure accuracy and adequacy of accounting records and documentation, including appropriate procedures, manuals, and standard practice instructions Review and approve the validation of accounting transactions and their account distribution and post the accounting entries to the general ledger system in light with the company’s policies and procedures and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) Job Description 3 13- Assess and recommend the sources of cash funds required for operations based on the approved cash flow budgets Liaise with bankers, suppliers, and other third parties related to all financial matters Arrange for the audit of the company’s accounts (internal) and provide the required reports and information to the auditors Supervise the month and year end closing of books to supply timely information to the management 1 Oversee and direct the budgeting process Co-ordinate with departmental managers in the preparation of periodic budgets Direct the compilation of data based on statistical studies and analysis of past and current year to prepare budgets and justify funds requested Recommend for adjustments on existing policies and procedures regarding safeguarding of assets Plan for and supervise insurance procedures and activities Minimum Education Required
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting. • Preferred Master’s degree in accounting. Professional Certifications Required
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) • Chartered Accountant (CA) • CFA Accounting Certification Years of experience are required.
• Minimum 8-10 years of experience including 3-5 years of experience in the same position
